YSL Elle is a floral with a firm backbone. The flowers are soft, but the woods and spice underneath keep them sharp and well-defined.
It starts with juicy lychee and pink pepper, fruity and lively at once. Peony forms the floral heart, light and fresh. Then patchouli, vetiver and woods create a drier, earthier base. That tension is what makes Elle interesting: round fruit and fresh petals on one side, aromatic spice and texture on the other.
If you like flowers but find most florals a little too sweet, this is worth your attention. It works for late afternoons and evenings, and it has enough structure to feel modern and a bit bold.
Eau de Parfum, in 1.7 oz or 3.0 oz.
Fans of peony and lychee should also try Chloé. For a warmer YSL floral, there’s Manifesto. See all Yves Saint Laurent perfumes.
