Maison Francis Kurkdjian made two “Mood” perfumes around rose and oud, and they feel very different. Oud Silk Mood is the brighter, airier one.
Bergamot gives it a fresh edge, and chamomile adds a gentle, herbal detail. Rose sits at the center. Around it, guaiac wood and papyrus bring a dry, open woodiness, and oud adds depth without turning everything smoky.
Compared with its sister, Oud Satin Mood, which is plush with vanilla, Silk Mood is lighter and more open. If vanilla-rich perfumes feel too heavy, this is the one to consider.
Evening exhibitions and gallery dinners suit its refined, dry character.
Eau de Parfum, 2.4 oz.
The richer, vanilla-wrapped sister is Oud Satin Mood. For an elegant rose without oud, look at Givenchy’s Irresistible Rose Velvet. More from Maison Francis Kurkdjian.
