The name says it all. Fire & Ice, launched by Revlon in 1994, is built on a contrast between cool sparkle and slow-burning warmth.
The ice: tangerine and orange blossom, bright and sunny for the first few minutes.
The fire: amber, incense, musk and woods, which show up sooner than you’d expect and leave a soft, smoky glow on the skin.
In between is a rich floral heart that bridges the two. The incense is what people remember. It isn’t churchy or heavy, just a resinous haze that makes the citrus feel warmer than it really is.
Because it’s an Eau de Cologne, it wears lighter than most amber perfumes of its era, so you can reach for it on an ordinary weekday and not only on cold evenings. It comes in a 1.7 oz bottle.
Its older sibling Ciara goes deeper into incense and resin. For an ambery vanilla in the same spirit, try Chopard Casmir. See all of Revlon.
