Five bottles, all men’s, and all five belong to one line. This page is really a single fragrance offered at five different strengths and moods.
Afnan Perfumes is based in Dubai and has been producing since the 1990s, part of the wave of Gulf houses that grew up serving a region where fragrance is a daily habit rather than an occasional purchase. Its instinct is commercial rather than experimental: identify what people are already spending far more money on, and build a version they can afford.
9 PM is the fragrance that made the name outside the Gulf. It arrived in 2020, cost a fraction of what it smelled like it should, and spread almost entirely through word of mouth — apple, cinnamon, vanilla and tonka, sweet and warm and heavier than the price suggests.
The five are best understood as concentrations rather than separate scents. 9 PM itself is the Eau de Parfum and the starting point. 9 PM Rebel is the sharper, spicier reading of it. 9 PM Elixir steps up to Parfum Intense, and 9 PM Night Out goes further again to Extrait de Parfum — the densest thing on the page and the one that will still be there in the morning.
9 AM Dive is the outlier, and the name tells you the intent: this is the daytime, fresher counterpart, aquatic where the others are sweet.
Sweet ambery fragrances at this concentration are easy to overdo, and Elixir and Night Out especially so. Two sprays is plenty; four will follow you into a lift and stay there.
For the same region and a wider range, see Lattafa, Rasasi and Al Haramain, all shelved under men’s cologne.
