Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan Review: Still Worth It?

Most viral fragrances are two years old. This one is not. This Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan review looks at a bottle that has been quietly selling since 2016 — long before TikTok discovered the brand — and asks whether it still deserves the reputation.
Short answer: yes, and it is the cheapest thing in Lattafa’s line-up worth owning.

It opens bright and slightly sharp — pineapple with saffron underneath, which is an unusual pairing and the reason people remember it. Balsam fir and jasmine follow, keeping it green rather than sweet, and the base is cedar, amber and agarwood. The oud is restrained: this is not a heavy Middle Eastern oud fragrance, it is a woody amber with oud in the background.

Why people compare it to niche fragrances
The pineapple-and-woods structure sits in the same territory as several well-regarded niche amber scents that cost ten to fifteen times as much. Qaed Al Fursan is not a copy of any one of them, but it lands in the same neighbourhood, and for most people the difference is smaller than the price gap suggests.
Where it does fall short is refinement. The opening is a little rough for the first ten minutes and the saffron can read slightly synthetic if you know what to listen for. After twenty minutes that settles and what is left is genuinely good.
Longevity and projection
Solid rather than extreme. Six to eight hours on skin, with the first two hours doing most of the projecting. It is noticeably better behaved than Asad — you can wear this to work without clearing a room.
Three sprays is reasonable here, which is not something worth saying about most Lattafa releases.

Autumn and spring. It handles mild heat better than the gourmands.

Office, dinners, daytime. One of the more versatile Lattafas.

Marketed unisex and wears that way. The saffron keeps it from leaning either direction.

Where Qaed Al Fursan keeps the oud in the background, Ameer Al Oudh puts it up front. Agarwood, cinnamon and nutmeg open it, jasmine and sandalwood soften the middle, and the base is musk, vanilla, guaiac wood, amber and cedar. This is the closer of the two to a classic Middle Eastern oud, and the cheapest way into that style.

Badee Al Oud Sublime

Despite the name, this is the least oud-forward of the three. Apple, litchi and rose open it, plum and jasmine carry the middle, and moss, vanilla and patchouli give it a soft, slightly powdery finish. Fruitier and more modern than the other two, and the one most likely to get compliments from people who do not normally like oud.

Is Qaed Al Fursan worth it?
At this price it is close to unbeatable. If you want one Lattafa that works for the office as well as the evening, this is the one to start with.
Is Qaed Al Fursan the same as Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited?
No. Unlimited is a separate 2022 release with a citrus, coconut and floral profile — much lighter and quite different. This listing is the original.
Does it smell like oud?
Only faintly. The oud sits in the base and supports the cedar and amber rather than dominating. If you want obvious oud, choose Ameer Al Oudh instead.
Is it too strong for work?
No, and that is unusual for this brand. Two or three sprays is office-appropriate.

The verdict
Qaed Al Fursan is the least fashionable fragrance Lattafa makes and possibly the best value. It has none of the social-media momentum of Khamrah or Asad, it has been on shelves for the better part of a decade, and it is still the bottle to hand someone who wants to know whether cheap fragrance can smell expensive.
Buy it first, then decide whether you want the louder ones.
